The Child Protection and Safe Environments certificate program at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ focuses on best practices in child protection from a Ï㽶ÊÓƵ perspective, utilizing courses from various schools. Graduates will gain expertise in understanding the dynamics of sexual abuse and exploitation, especially within the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Church, and the history and current practices of safe environment programs. They will learn core principles of trauma-informed services, evaluate policies and interventions for trauma survivors, and understand the roles of criminal and civil legal systems in addressing abuse. This program prepares graduates for roles such as diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinators or Safe Environment Coordinators.
